The full name of Rick Vaive is Richard Claude Vaive. He was born on 14th May in the year 1959. Presently, Rick is a retired professional ice hockey player. He used to play professional ice hockey for Canada. Rick also played the National Hockey League from the year 1979 to the season of 1992. His best time of ice hockey career is said to be during his presence in the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is well known and remembered in the world of ice hockey as the top 50 goal scorers for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He had a great career of ice hockey and is well remembered for his unique style of play on the field. Rick had a very nice technique for playing the strike shots in front of the goal post. His shooting style confused the opponent players which finally let to score goals. Other than scoring many goals, Rick has also made many assists. In his entire career he was quite successful in winning many important championships which helped him to gain considerable amount of fan following and fame. His position on the filed was particularly right wing. He has a height of 6ft and he played with his right hand.
In his entire Ice hockey career, Rick Vaive has played for five different ice hockey teams. The teams in which he had made his appearances are Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and Brimingham Bulls. Among all these teams he had spent most of his ice hockey career in the team of Toronto Maple Leafs and achieved the maximum number goals while he was playing for this particular team. In the year 1993, Rick announced officially that he would retire from the sport of ice hockey after that particular season. In the month of July of the year 2009, Rick was arrested for rash car driving and his case is still on and held up till the month of February of 2012.
After Rick Vaive retired from the game, he became the coach in American Hockey League and also in the East Coast Hockey League. In the year 1993 just after his retirement, he became the chief coach of the South Carolina Stingrays.
Under his guidance the team was successful in bring home both the champion trophies of Brabham Cup and Kelly Cup. This particular event took place in the season 1996-07. Presently, Rick Vaive hosts many shows in the televisions.
